Why Is My Swing Video Sideways?

Two different things get called sideways. One is the phone tipped while you film. The other is a finished clip that plays rotated, on its side.

Is the camera level?

Level the phone before you record. The camera screen has a tilt line so you can see it.

On iPhone that line reads Roll and Pitch. Roll is the side-to-side tip. Pitch is the up-and-down tip. Level the phone until both say 0°. A number of degrees means the phone is still tilted.

On Mac the same line says Level when the phone is level, or Tilted and the degrees when it is not. Level it until the line says Level.

A tilted camera leans the picture. That is separate from a clip that plays fully on its side.

Why is my swing video sideways?

MotionEdge rotates each clip from what the iPhone sensor reports. You do not rotate the clip yourself inside the app.

If a clip still plays on its side, close MotionEdge completely, open it again, and start a new recording session.

What if the next clip is sideways too?

That is a support issue. Email support@motionedge.ai and include the iPhone model. MotionEdge is already rotating from the sensor. When the picture is still on its side, support needs to follow up on that phone.

This is not Continuity Camera

If the iPhone is acting as the Mac's camera and the picture is always landscape, that is a different limit. See Continuity Camera.
