How sharing a coaching session works
MotionEdge stores your AI Coach conversations only on your devices (and synced via your private iCloud). We don't keep a central copy. If you want to help us make the coach better — by sharing a specific session where the feedback felt off, or where it really worked — there's a deliberate, opt-in way to do that.
The short version
- Open it from Settings — the exact path differs slightly by platform:
| Device | How to get there |
|---|---|
| iPhone / iPad | Settings → AI Coach Quality → Share AI Coach Session for Analysis |
| Mac | MotionEdge → Settings → Support tab → AI Coach Quality → Share AI Coach Session for Analysis |
- Pick up to 5 conversations to share
- Optionally tell us what you want us to focus on
- Optionally tell us a bit about your golf game (handicap, experience) so we can interpret feedback in context
- Preview the full bundle before sending — you see exactly what we'll see
- Tap Generate & Share, then pick your preferred channel (email, AirDrop, Messages, Files)
What's in the bundle
- Your transcripts (user + coach turns) for the conversations you selected
- Swing metadata + the AI's recap of each swing referenced
- Filmstrip thumbnails for those swings (the same images the coach saw)
- Any feedback you gave on coach responses (👍/👎 + your comments)
- Any "user notes" you added on individual feedback items in the preview
- Your user-model preferences (anonymized — no GHIN, no venue names)
- App version + build number so we can track quality across releases
What's NOT in the bundle
- No video files. Only the filmstrip thumbnails we already analyzed.
- No GHIN handicap data. Stripped.
- No venue or location names. Stripped from your goals/notes.
- No real names, contact info, or other identifying details.
- No automatic uploads. Bundles only leave your device when you tap Share.
Why we ask for your handicap / experience
You don't have to — every field is optional. If you do share it, it helps us when we're looking across many shared sessions to make sure we're not unintentionally tuning the coach toward only one type of golfer. For example, if 80% of shared sessions came from low-handicap players and we adjusted the coach based on that, we'd accidentally make it less helpful for everyone else. The segment data lets us correct for that.
Where it goes
Wherever you send it. You pick the channel — email it to us, AirDrop it to a teammate, save it to Files. MotionEdge doesn't have a server that receives bundles automatically. If you email it to support, our team will use it to identify patterns and improve the coach.
Once you've sent it
A bundle is an ordinary file, shared through an ordinary channel — email, Messages, AirDrop, or Files. Once you send it, the recipient has a copy, exactly as with any other file you send.
Nothing is sent automatically and nothing is collected in the background: a bundle exists only because you chose to generate one and chose where it went. That is the whole reason sharing works this way — the decision is yours, per session, every time.
If you have questions about a bundle you've sent, email support@motionedge.ai and we'll get back to you.
Why we built it this way
Your AI Coach conversations are personal. We didn't want to be in the business of background-collecting them — that would make the coach feel like a data product, not a tool. The export option exists so users who want to help us improve can do so consciously, with full visibility into what's being shared.
If you have questions about how a specific session would be used, email support@motionedge.ai before sharing.
