Down-the-line

Flying elbow.

The trail elbow wings at the top. Film down-the-line with the club in the frame.

Down-the-line · Club in frame · Backswing, Top, Transition

What's going on.

On the way to the top the trail arm disconnects and the elbow flies. Down-the-line, the club is no longer in front of the chest. That sets a steep throw from the top. A different card is the throw. This one is the wing.

What's already OK.

A full mid-iron is already a swing. The club just got outside you at the top.

The one thing.

Keep the club in front of your chest all the way to the top.

The drill.

Club in front

A mid-iron. Camera down-the-line, club in the frame. Stock full swing.

10 rehearsals, then 10 balls.

The handle still points at the ball-target line at the top. The club stays in front of you, not behind you.

Film again.

5 full mid-irons, down-the-line, club in the frame. Share the best. The next look is only this idea.

Down-the-line at the Top the club is still in front of the chest. Transition starts from that, not from a winged trail elbow.

Athletic Motion Golf · from 1:02

Watch the trail arm at the top. Tricep nearer the ground, club still in front, is the picture. A winged elbow is the opposite of that.

Athletic Motion Golf · from 0:27

They name the common trail-arm miss at the top versus a club that stays on plane. Watch Backswing to Top. That is the wing, not the over-the-top throw.

Athletic Motion Golf · from 3:00

Watch the trail arm pulled back on the side of the body. That is the elbow off the chest at the top. Over-the-top is what it sets up. This card is the wing.
