Importing TrackMan Reports — FAQ

What is a TrackMan report?

A TrackMan report is a shareable link that TrackMan generates from Performance Studio. It contains your swing data — radar metrics, trajectory information, and high-speed videos — hosted online so anyone with the link can view it in a browser. TrackMan emails you the link, and you can forward it to anyone.

MotionEdge can import these reports directly — just paste the link and your swings, videos, and all radar data come into the app.

How is this different from importing a stroke file?

Both get your TrackMan data into MotionEdge with the same end result. The difference is the transport:

Stroke File (.tms) Report Link
How you get it Export a file from Performance Studio TrackMan emails you a link
Transfer method USB, cloud storage, AirDrop Paste a URL — no file transfer
Best for Large sessions, offline access Quick sharing, single shots or grouped reports
File needed? Yes — need to move the .tms file to your device No — just the URL

If you have access to Performance Studio (you're at the TrackMan computer), the stroke file import gives you the most control. If someone emailed you a report link — your coach, a buddy, or the facility — the report import is faster since there's no file to move around.

How do I create a report in TrackMan Performance Studio?

In Performance Studio:

  1. Select the shot or shots you want to share
  2. Click the Report button
  3. Choose Single Shot Report (one swing) or Group Report (multiple swings, organized by club)
  4. TrackMan generates the report and emails you a link — it arrives in your inbox within a few seconds

The link looks like: https://web-dynamic-reports.trackmangolf.com/?r=...

Group reports are especially useful — you can include your entire session organized by club. All your driver swings in one group, 7-irons in another, wedges in another. MotionEdge imports all of them in one step.

How do I import a report into MotionEdge?

  1. Open the email from TrackMan and copy the report link
  2. In MotionEdge, go to the Sessions tab
  3. Tap the overflow menu (⋯) in the top-right of the Sessions list → "TrackMan Report"
  4. Paste the link into the URL field
  5. MotionEdge fetches the report and shows you a preview:
    • Single-shot report: One swing with club type, key metrics, and video angles
    • Group report: All clubs and shots listed, with total count and estimated download size
  6. Tap Import — MotionEdge downloads the videos and creates your session

For group reports, you can see progress as each swing downloads. If you need to stop early, any swings that already finished downloading are kept.

What happens after import?

Exactly the same as a stroke file import — your TrackMan swings are now full MotionEdge swings:

  • Review videos with frame-by-frame scrubbing and slow motion
  • See all 30+ radar metrics — ball speed, carry, spin, club path, face angle, and everything else
  • Run pose analysis on the TrackMan videos
  • Share with AI Coach — the AI gets your pose data AND radar numbers together, correlating what your body did with what the ball did

The use case: practice at a studio, analyze at home

This is the same workflow as stroke file import, but even simpler when someone else handles the export:

  1. Practice at a TrackMan studio — hit balls, get your numbers
  2. Ask the facility to send you a report — many studios will email you a group report of your session as part of the service. Some do it automatically
  3. Open the email on your phone — copy the link
  4. Import into MotionEdge — paste the link, tap import, done
  5. Analyze at home — run AI coaching, review specific swings, track progress over time
  6. Share with your coach — export as a .mef file so your coach gets everything: videos, radar data, and pose analysis

No USB drives, no cloud storage, no file management. Just a link in your email.

Can I import a report that someone else shared with me?

Yes. TrackMan report links are accessible to anyone — no login required. If your coach, a friend, or a facility emails you a report link, you can import it directly. This makes it easy for coaches to share swing data with students, or for friends to compare sessions.

Can I export an imported report session to share?

Yes. Once imported, it's a regular MotionEdge session. Export it as a .mef file and send it to any device, friend, or coach — all the TrackMan data travels with it.
